Abstract

Objective: To explore the effect of budesonide combined with ipratropium bromide on patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Methods: A total of 130 patients with acute exacerbation of COPD admitted to our hospital from November 2017 to July 2019 were enrolled and given basic treatment. The patients were randomly divided into Group A (n=68) and Group B (n=62). Patients in Group A were treated with ipratropium bromide solution and patients in Group B were treated with ipratropium bromide solution combined with budesonide inhalation suspension. The two groups were compared in the levels of inflammatory factors, pulmonary function, and adverse reactions.

Results: After treatment, the levels of inflammatory factors, adverse reactions, and pulmonary function of Group B were all better than those of Group A (all P<0.05).

Conclusion: Budesonide combined with ipratropium bromide is effective in the treatment of patients with acute exacerbation of COPD.
