Objective: To explore the effect of cognitive behavior intervention (CBT) on psychological emotion and erectile dysfunction (ED) of patients with chronic prostatitis (CP).
Methods: Altogether 84 CP patients treated in our hospital from December 2016 to June 2018 were selected as the research participants. Among them, 42 patients were randomly selected into the observation group to receive CBT, the other 42 patients were included into the control group to receive routine nursing intervention. The SAS, SDS scores and ED occurrence before and after nursing of the two groups of patients were compared. The NIH-CPSI and IIEF-5 scores before and after nursing of the two groups of patients were compared. Pearson test was used to analyze the correlation of SAS, SDS scores with IIEF-5 scores of the patients. QLO-C30 scores of the two groups of patients after nursing and the nursing satisfaction of the two groups of patients were compared.
Results: After nursing, SAS and SDS scores of patients in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group (P<0.001), ED patients in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group (P<0.001), NIH-CPSI scores in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group (P<0.001), IIEF-5 scores in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group (P<0.001), SAS scores were negatively correlated with IIEF-5 scores (r=0.867, P<0.001), SDS score was negatively correlated with IIEF-5 score (r=0.833, P<0.001). QLQ-C30 score and nursing satisfaction in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group (P<0.001).
Conclusion: CBT intervention can improve the psychological mood of CP patients, reduce the incidence of ED and improve the quality of life of patients, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
