Abstract

This study was under taken to investigate the expression of LncRNA SNHG12 in breast cancer patients and correlation analysis of its prognosis. A total of 109 patients with breast cancer admitted to The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University from June 2014 to March 2016 were selected as the research objects, while 109 healthy women who came to this hospital for physical examination during the same period were selected as a control group, and the serum LncRNA SNHG12 of subjects in the two groups were detected and compared by Rt-PCR. The clinicopathological features of LncRNA SNHG12 and breast cancer patients were analyzed, so was to their diagnostic value and prognosis correlation. The expression of LncRNA SNHG12 in serum of breast cancer patients was significantly higher than that of normal people (P < 0.05). The ROC of LncRNA SNHG12 in the diagnosis of breast cancer exceeded 0.8, and its expression was tied to the degree of tumor differentiation, pathological staging, tumor size and lymph node metastasis of patients (P < 0.05). In addition, the mortality of patients from LncRNA SNHG12 high expression group was significantly higher than that of patients from low expression group (P < 0.05). Whereafter, univariate analysis showed that the poor prognosis of breast cancer patients had something to do with tumor size, pathological staging, lymph node metastasis, degree of differentiation and LcnRNA SNHG12 expression (P < 0.05); besides, Cox multivariate analysis found that tumor size, pathological staging, lymph node metastasis, degree of differentiation and LcnRNA SNHG12 expression were independent risk factors for poor prognosis of breast cancer patients (P < 0.05). LncRNA SNHG12 was highly expressed in serum of breast cancer patients, with high diagnostic and prognostic evaluation value, which might be a new target direction for their diagnosis and treatment.
