The effect of intravesical instillation of mitomycin on serum cytokines in patients with cystitis has been explored. From January 2017 to December 2018, 100 patients with cystitis treated in our hospital were divided into control group and observation group, 50 cases each according to random number table method. The two groups were treated by transurethral resection. The control group was treated by intravesical instillation of pirarubicin after operation. The observation group was treated by intravesical instillation of mitomycin on the basis of the control group. The clinical efficacy, serum interleukin-2 (IL-2), interferon-γ (IFN-γ), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-a) cytokines, the incidence of adverse reactions and the recurrence rate at 1 year after operation were compared between the two groups. The total effective rate was 80.00% (40/50) in the control group and 94.00% (47/50) in the observation group, which was higher in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the levels of IL-2, IFN-γ and TNF-a between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of IL-2, IFN and TNF-a in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 12.00% (6/50) in the control group and 16.00% (8/50) in the observation group, with no significant difference (P>0.05). The 1-year recurrence rate of the control group was 14.00% (7/50), and that of the observation group was 2.00% (1/50), which was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). Mitomycin intravesical instillation therapy is effective in the treatment of cystitis. It can reduce the level of serum cytokines, and has high safety and low recurrence rate, which is worthy of clinical application.
